An Inside Look at Scarlett's Day Shift with Genesis
Today, we sit down with Genesis, one of Scarlett’s favorite daytime bartenders. Originally from New Jersey, Genesis brings a friendly, welcoming vibe to the day shift at Scarlett's. She shares her thoughts on the club, her favorite moments, and why she loves working in such a dynamic environment.
Q: Thanks for chatting with us, Genesis! So, what’s it been like moving from New Jersey to working here at Scarlett’s?
Genesis: It’s been awesome! New Jersey will always be home, but being here is such a fun experience. I love meeting so many people from all kinds of backgrounds and hearing their stories. It’s like a melting pot—everyone has their own vibe, and it keeps things exciting.
Q: You work the daytime shift. How does it differ from the evenings?
Genesis: Oh, day shift is totally the calm before the storm. The crowd is a bit older during the day, and they’re here to relax, chat, and laugh. It’s more laid-back, and the music’s still fun with some top hits from the DJ, but not as wild as the evenings. By nighttime, though, the younger crowd comes in, and it turns into a whole different scene—I get slammed, with people lined up three deep for drinks like Lemon Drop martinis.
Q: What’s on offer for your day-shift guests?
Genesis: We’ve got discounted drinks and free lunch from 12–3 PM, which the regulars love. They get to choose from a variety of menu options like burgers, wings, sandwiches, and salads. But the New York Strip Steak is definitely the most popular item. And I can’t forget the fries—they’re so good! It’s a great combo of good food, good drinks, and good vibes.
Q: You’ve got some regulars on your shift, right? What do they love about coming in during the day?
Genesis: Absolutely! Our day shift crowd is more into the conversation and the whole relaxed atmosphere. They come for the food, but they stay for the company and laughs. They’re really social, and they enjoy hanging out with us at the main bar, where I’m usually working with Andrea, and of course, there’s Harley and some of the other popular daytime entertainers. We all know each other pretty well, so it feels like a little community.
Q: What keeps you excited about working at Scarlett’s?
Genesis: The mix of people, for sure. I love that no two days are the same, and whether it’s a chill day shift or a packed night crowd, it’s always interesting. Plus, it’s fun to be part of people’s nights out and special occasions. Working here just brings a lot of energy and good times, and I’m happy to be a part of it!
